This temple in Paestum, Italy amazed me because of its size. I couldn’t believe that not only had it not been built with the modern equipment we rely on today but that it was also still standing! It was built around 500 BC and is dedicated to Athena, the Greek goddess of justice and wisdom (amongst other things). I really like the way the sun is peaking through the columns, glancing off their weathered stone and illuminating their ancient shapes.
