A muddy beauty…

I thought that this discarded rose on the wet concrete was one of the most beautiful roses I have ever seen. The deep, passionate red petals that spin into a curling core are so vibrant against the brownish black stone. The rose seems defiant of its forlorn situation but I find it almost sad to see something of that much beauty lying on hard ground, flecked with mud.
