Fly away…

I love the freedom of dandelion seeds: the way they float on the air and land wherever the wind takes them.  This photo is quite similar to Spring Seeds (header photo) but I like it for a different reason. In this image, the dandelion seeds look as if they are trying to break free. When I first saw these little parachutes, I wanted to capture them because they seemed to be tumbling over each other. As I was taking the photo the breeze tugged them towards open air, tempting them to fly away. Just seconds after I captured this image, the last two were whisked away, gliding to their unknown destinations.
