On the border between Switzerland and Italy lies the Matterhorn, (also known as ‘Monte Cervino’ in Italian and ‘Mont Cervin’ in French), which is probably most well-known for its iconic appearance on the Toblerone chocolate packet. I have always loved this peak because of its distinctive shape and broad sides and, for me, this photo emphasises its beauty. I love the simple colours in this photo and how the rock face looks almost dark blue. The mountain defines itself strongly against the pale sky as well as against the other peaks in the Pennine Alps, at its 4,478 metres (14,690 feet).
