The first daffodils are blooming! This always makes me happy because of their sunny yellow colour which stands out so brightly against green grass and a Carolina blue sky. I love that there are so many different variations, though all seem to have the distinctive ruffled petals – just in varied colours. For me, this is one of the first signs of my favourite season – Spring – and the sight of clusters of these cheerful flowers makes me think of sunny days, warm breezes and long evenings spent lying in the grass staring at the sky and cotton-wool clouds.
